2011 TEACHER & SUPPORT PERSON OF THE YEAR
On the first day back for staff on September 1, the 2011 TEACHER OF THE YEAR and SUPPORT PERSON OF THE YEAR were announced.
High School mathematics teacher, Bill Kiehler received the honors as Teacher of the Year for 2011 Other nominees were Lisa Koehn, school social worker, and Craig Cassady, former high school history teacher who left the district in August to take an administrative position in another district. Shown at left (L-R) are School Board President Lee Bristol, Lisa Koehn, Bill Kiehler, and Superintendent Mike Sharrow.
As a result of a 3-way tie in the Support Person category, all three nominees will share the honors as Support Person of the Year for 2011. They are Pat Collins, Secretary I at Algonac Elementary, Maria Ladochi, Custodian at Algonac Elementary, and Debbie Meldrum, Bus Driver.
