Know How To Go Sponsored Event – “Camp College” open to interested 10th graders. Visit EMU on Friday, May 25, 2012. Bus leaves RESA in Marysville at 6:30 AM. Arrives at EMU 8:45 AM – 2:00 PM. AHS has only seven (7) slots for interested 10th graders. Email Mrs. Blair if you are interested. kblair@acsk12.us It’s free.

Attention Class of 2012:
We have extra graduation announcements for those seniors who might need a few more to send out to family and friends. The cost is $1.00 per announcement. Please see Mrs. Lauland if interested.
Senior All Night Party (SANP) will be June 8, 2012. The cost is $125.00 per student. Parents & students: If you have already paid this amount or are on the payment plan, you will have no additional cost. It's not too late to sign up to attend. We also will be doing a Candy Fundraiser to give all students a chance to raise funds. If there are students that would like to participate but have financial concerns, please contact Janie 810-794-0962 or cell 810-335-1068; or you may contact Mr. Brutyn at the high school. This will be kept strictly confidential. The bus will be leaving Algonac High on June 8, 2012 at 9:00 P.M. and returning June 9, 2012 around 6:00 A.M.
Seniors, remember to request your final transcripts be sent to the college/university you will attend through Parchment.
Juniors – you can register now with Parchment to have your transcripts sent electronically when you apply to college. Visit www.parchment.com , click “Sign Up”, and select that you are a current student, enter your email address and select a password, complete the rest of the registration. You are then ready to request your transcripts electronically through Parchment.
Please note the following exam start time changes:
IB French: Start time has been changed to 7:30 a.m. instead of 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22nd
We will be overseeing the attendance our athletes with increased scrutiny. As a reminder what our policy is please see the statement below from our athletic handbook.
“Because Algonac Community Schools place a high emphasis on academics, we are requiring that an athlete shall be in attendance at every class during the day of the contest or practice session, except as excused by the Principal, Athletic Director or designee. Violation of this rule shall result in the athlete not participating in the scheduled athletic contest and/or practice.”
This policy is for practice and games…if a student is not in attendance for the entire day they must sit out of practice or games scheduled that day.

There are order forms in the main office and in Mrs. Landrum’s Classroom for anyone interested in ordering a Rachel’s Challenge T-shirt. Orders and money are due next Friday May 18th.
Seniors – if you are receiving academic scholarships from institutions of higher learning (college/university) and would like that acknowledged at the annual Senior Awards Assembly on June 8, 2012, you must email that information to Mrs. Blair by Friday, May 25, 2012. You must email her verification of that scholarship from your college or university as well. kblair@acsk12.us
Students with overdue books will be added to the school fine list today. Don’t be charged for replacement of your book or interfere with your exams! Return or renew those books today. All current books are due back Wednesday, May23rd.
Seniors -All seniors that have signed up and are planning on attending the senior all night party please see your parent volunteers on Friday, May 18th during your lunch. Important paperwork will be handed out.
All overdue books have been place on the school fine list for replacements cost of the book. You must return your book or pay replacement cost. Books can be placed in the drop box at the circulation counter of the LMC.
The girls’ soccer team defeated Almont 1-0. Veronica Roberts scored the only goal of the game unassisted halfway through the first half. Emily Darling stopped all eight shots she faced to earn her third shutout of the season.
