My name is Mrs. Bokano and I am in my sixth year teaching here at Algonac Community Schools. I am very excited to begin this year! I can't wait to get started! There is a lot of exciting material planned for this year!

I graduated from Oakland University in 2007 with Secondary Certification in English and History. After graduation, I was a substitute teacher before I was hired here at Algonac.  I am currently working on my Master's in Teaching to become a Literacy Specialist. This means I will be certified in the diagnosis and remediation of reading and writing problems. This Master's has truly helped me become a better educator.

I am incredibly passionate about teaching and will do all I can to ensure my student's are successful, learn all I can teach, feel safe and cared for, and become important members of society. I have taken several measures to ensure that I am a part of a team of educator's who are like-minded. I am part of the EdCamp Bluewater Planning Committe and the Innovative Educator's group. I have also spent four summers writing and revising our WriteWell writing curriculum so I may better serve the students I am teaching. I look forward to implementing all I've learned in this coming school year!!

You may contact me anytime at (810) 794-4911 ext. 3225  or by emailing me at mbokano@algonac.k12.mi.us. If I am not available, you will have a response from me within 24 hours.

Please also follow me on Twitter (@BokanoHS) for homework reminders and updates.

I am looking forward to a fantastic 2015-2016 school year!!
