Travel Around the World

Get ready to fly around the world!

By incorporating technology, visuals & project-based learning,  the 6th grade Social Studies students are going to get their creative juices flowing & have fun learning all about the Western Hemisphere! 

Students will be immersed in the five themes of geography learning about places they may have heard about in the news or in school & some places they probably have never heard of.  They will explore interesting events & people from ancient history while also be introduced to people that are impacting regions throughout the world today!

Please use this site as a resource & interact with others using positive and appropriate online social etiquette. Fasten your seatbelt & enjoy!

6th Grade Itinerary:

-     The United States: with emphasis on all of the 50 states

-     Canada: places like British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, where you can ski, fish, and/or watch a great hockey game

-     Latin America:  places like Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, where the Sierra Madre mountain ranges & the Antilles islands are located

-     Central and South America: places like Central America, the Caribbean, Venezuela, Columbia, Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador, which includes the Panama Canal – the crossroad for goods between the eastern & western hemispheres

-     Brazil: places like Rio de Janeiro and the Amazon rain forest-the world’s largest rain forest

-     Western Europe: places like Spain, France, Germany and Italy, where the Roman Empires dominated

-     United Kingdom: from Shakespeare to J.K. Rowling and home of the Royal Family

-     Eastern Europe: places like Romania, Poland and the Ukraine, where there is  a mass array of various ethnic groups
